Parents confirm that they hold the setting in the highest regard. Their responses to surveys and the many thank you letters bear testament to their ongoing satisfaction. Positive comments, such as ‘I really enjoyed watching them blossom and make new friends in a lovely, carefree environment’, encapsulate their views. Parents value the flexible session times, as well as the care shown to their children.

Our Aims

Starting nursery school is a very important stage for all children as it is often their first experience of separating from their parent or carer. At Borrowby Nursery School we provide a warm, safe and caring atmosphere where children settle in easily and feel at home.

We aim to:

• Provide a caring, stimulating environment where children feel safe and valued as an  individual.
• Allow children to develop at a pace that suits them and that encourages their independence.
• Help children to grow in confidence and develop a positive attitude towards learning.
• Provide a balanced, play based curriculum based on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
• Encourage children to show care and respect for one another, their environment and to promote social development.
• Build a valued partnership with mums, dads, families and carers.
• Continue developing our close links with Knayton School and so contribute to a high quality Early Year’s unit that will facilitate the smooth transition of our children.

Our curriculum is delivered in a flexible way that ensures that our children receive the care and support that they need to make their learning relevant to their needs and interests.
